Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company (CMBC) and Emerald Headingley Stadium in Leeds have agreed a five-year extension to their long standing relationship – securing CMBC pouring rights until the end of 2028.
The partnership provides Headingley Stadium with a comprehensive beer and beverage portfolio for fans to enjoy, with beer brands including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, number one world beer, San Miguel, popular cask-ale Tetley’s and the Brooklyn Brewery craft portfolio.
Over the course of the five-year agreement, an estimated 3.5 million pints of beer will be responsibly served across the stadium bars to fans.
Emerald Headingley Stadium, which first opened its doors over 130 years ago in 1890, has recently undergone a £45 million redevelopment to both the rugby and cricket stadia.
CMBC will continue its Tetley’s South Stand sponsorship as part of this new deal, which also sees the Tetley’s brand continue as the official beer of both Leeds Rhinos and the Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
Rob Oates, Leeds Rhinos Commercial Director, commented: “We’ve enjoyed a very long and successful relationship with Carlsberg UK for many years and are absolutely delighted to be extending our partnership with Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company for a further five years. Ahead of the start of the new Super League season this weekend, which kicks off with all six games in the opening round at Emerald Headingley, it is brilliant news that a global company with roots firmly in Leeds will continue to give their fantastic support to the club, just as they have done over the last 29 years.”
Mark Pattinson, Northern Trading Director at CMBC adds: “We’re proud to have shared a successful partnership with Headingley Stadium for over a quarter of a century. This new deal further builds our relationship and ensures fans can enjoy many of the fantastic beers and ciders in our portfolio. We’re now eagerly anticipating the time when fans are allowed back in through the stadium gates and look forward to using our partnership to deliver exciting experiences for rugby and cricket fans alike.
